Yo!   My name is David Brown and I am not another soulless blogger simply writing for a search engine; I blog about anything I have a passion for, be it Flash animation, video games, writing music or my experiences from being the Emcee/DJ/Synth player in my band You and What Army.

Why YOU should care about what I say

Through a combination of my unending fascination with computers and the internet and a need to make a website for my band, I took to the program Flash MX to craft my web presence, more recently moving up to Flash CS3.   I am self taught from online tutorials and painful trial and error, making websites, games and flash animations.

I mentioned games; since childhood I have been unhealthily obsessed with video games.   From about the age of 6 I wanted my own games company and I’ve followed that dream up to Stafford University, where I am in the final year of my Computer Games Programming and Design degree.

From all these experiences, I’ve learned a lot and it’s here where I share the advice and knowledge I’ve accumulated.

The Birth of gotoAndBlog();

I began blogging at the recommendation of my girlfriend (an awesome freelance web designer) when she explained that people make a lot of money by writing things.   Being the hard-headed stereotypical male I am, I though “Hey, I could totally do that!” and began blogging on www.boyinaband.com about everything I could think of.

After a bit of research I learned that the most effective blogs are ones that specialise in their niche.   Rather than simply removing the blogs referring to Flash from boyinaband, I figured that it would be an opportunity to spread my wings further and create a blog dedicated solely to the pursuit of Flashual expression.

And that is what I am doing.   No doubt I will learn a lot more as I go along; this is where you’ll find it.
